StandOut Leadership Programme Officially Launched in East Africa!
We are excited to announce a transformational partnership between Reconfidence Coaching Solutions and HQ Consulting in rolling out StandOut Leadership Program for leaders in governance and politics arenas in Africa.
Here is a snapshot of the StandOut Executive Ladies Retreat that very successfully happened on 31st August 2024 with 63 leading ladies in attendance. This daylong event was full of reflections, testimonials, powerful conversations, group networking and coaching sessions.
We also had the prvilledge of an exclusive session with Mercy Wanjau (who is the secretary of the Cabinet of the Government of Kenya) and Zainab Hawa Bangura, (who is the Director General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi) sharing their personal experiences and learnings dubbed the Pathways to Power.

Yawa Hansen-Quao
Yawa Hansen-Quao, a Ghanaian founder, social entrepreneur, Author and Executive Coach, is a prominent figure in the spheres of education, leadership, and social change. Her life story, marked by resilience and dedication, has fueled her commitment to empowering corporates and transforming communities.
Professional Journey and Accomplishments
As the founder of HQ Consulting, Yawa Hansen-Quao has spearheaded efforts to cultivate a vibrant ecosystem of ambitious and resilient leaders across Africa. Through mentorship programs and empowerment initiatives, she has empowered countless individuals to pursue their aspirations and become catalysts for positive change in business, civil society, and government.
During her tenure as Executive Director for Emerging Public Leaders (EPL), an international nonprofit dedicated to fostering social impact through public service, Yawa propelled the organization’s expansion across West and East Africa. Her leadership prowess was instrumental in securing significant funding, amounting to $16 million USD, to support EPL’s pan-African expansion endeavors.
Global Engagement and Board Memberships
Yawa Hansen-Quao’s influence extends beyond her organizational leadership roles. She served as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Foundation board for three years, contributing her expertise to global dialogues on youth empowerment and social change. Currently, she holds a directorship at Ashesi University, a renowned liberal arts institution in Ghana, where she continues to shape the next generation of leaders through her strategic guidance and mentorship.
Advocacy and Advisory Roles
In addition to her foundational and executive roles, Yawa Hansen-Quao has been actively involved in shaping policy and advancing women’s leadership capacity in Africa. As a leadership consultant to UN Women, she played a pivotal role in developing curricula aimed at enhancing the leadership capabilities of women leaders in East and Southern Africa. Moreover, her tenure as a member of the Advisory Board of the Women’s Institute for Global Leadership at Benedictine University underscores her dedication to fostering gender equality and social inclusion.

Yawa Hansen-Quao’s remarkable contributions have garnered widespread recognition and accolades. In 2012, she was acknowledged as one of Africa’s Rising Leaders at the World Economic Forum on Africa, a testament to her visionary leadership and transformative impact. Furthermore, she was awarded the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship in 2016, in recognition of her pioneering work in nurturing emerging women leaders and driving social change in Africa.

Paps is an Award Winning Confidence and Wellness Coach and an Award Winning Author with 20 years of progressive experience journeying with her clients to CREATE the EXTRAORDINARY life they DESIRE and DESERVE.
Her coaching expertise is on areas of Purpose Clarity/Alignment, Emotional Healing/Wellness and Inner Confidence.
She is a graduate of Ecumenical Studies from University of Geneva; Bachelor of Arts in Pyschology, Sociology and Religion from University of Nairobi; and currently pursuing her Executive MBA at Roxbourg Institute of Social Entreprise in Switzerland.
Paps has authored 2 books – ReConfidence (Get Your Bold Back) and Leading Change (a Handbook for Mentoring 21st Century Pre/Teens in Africa).
